Player Development Overview

USA Hockey provides National Camp opportunities for U.S. citizens that are the best of the best. To participate in these camps, the player identification process starts at the local Affiliate level. Players participate in their Affiliate evaluation process and if selected move on to the district tryouts. Those players who are selected at the district level then have the privilege of attending one of the USA Hockey summer development camps. National Camps are available for 15-17 year old players.

In addition, the Southeastern District holds a camp for the top 14 year old (first year Bantam) players in the District as an introduction to the USA Hockey development program. Each Affiliate in the Southeastern District sends 20 players to this week long summer camp. Top coaches come in to work with players to help them further their skills. Prospective players must participate in their local Affiliate selection process to be eligible for the camp.
